Fishing Derby 2015State Senator Terry Link (D-Waukegan) was in attendance for the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County’s 25th annual Fishing Derby on July 29. Almost 200 people gathered at Big Bear Lake in Vernon Hills for an afternoon of fishing, carnival games and fun exhibits.

The event brings SRACLC summer camp participants and their families together for Family Day.

More than 130 fish were caught and released, and awards were presented for largest fish caught and most fish caught. Summer camp awards were also handed out to camp counselors and campers.

The SRACLC provides recreation programs and services to individuals with special needs and their families. The programs range from youth to adult and provide a number of opportunities for people with special needs.
